You may not notice it, but there's a crank position sensor in your car that constantly measures engine RPM through the speed and position of the crankshaft. Why? Well, aside from ensuring the correct ignition timing, monitoring RPM output also enables computers inside your car to gauge engine output, fuel consumption, emissions, and drivability. However, factory crank position sensors are prone to heat, corrosion, and other damage caused by leaks. Once you notice shaking each time you idle or hesitation when accelerating, chances are you need a new A1 Cardone Crank Position Sensor.
The A1 Cardone Crank Position Sensor features new bushings that make it virtually resistant to failure. Compared to your factory sensor, it has coils that have been computer-tested so that its wave form is always accurate. You can expect your crankshaft rotation and speed to be measured with supreme accuracy once the part is installed.
Just like most crank position sensors, this sensor can be installed just beside the water pump or near the flywheel. Depending on your car's make or model, it can also be mounted near your fender, front bumper, or even underneath the engine. It measures crankshaft speed with the help of a toothed metal disk. As this metal disk moves across the coil, the magnetic field is interrupted and pulses of current are created. This information is sent by the sensor to the computer, which then calculates the crank speed through the frequency of electrical pulses.
The A1 Cardone Crank Position Sensor is now available here at The Parts Bin. You can choose a new sensor or go for a remanufactured one. We have an easy-to-use interface that will help you find the part with ease. With this sensor in position, you'll have an improved ignition and fuel injection performance, leading to more power in your drive.
