The Hoppy line of taillight converters are one way of addressing the issue. The electronic taillight converters convert and adapt an independent bulb taillight system of the tow vehicle to the common bulb taillight system of the trailer. The Hoppy Power Taillight Converter is designed to draw power directly from the battery, thus isolating the highly sensitive computerized circuitry on the tow vehicle from the trailer wiring malfunctions. The performance part also boasts of a double molded construction for durability. And ultimately, it can power up to 4 brake lights and 16 tail/marker lights. The taillight converter with the 4-wire extension features a 74-inch wire in length for that maximum benefit and is usually finished in black color.
