When it comes to your vehicle's ignition system, timing is everything. Everything starts when you turn your ignition switch. After that, low–voltage electricity is generated by the battery, which is amplified by the coil and sent to the distributor. From the distributor, electricity reaches the spark plugs, which in turn ignite the air and fuel mixture. To attain superb fuel combustion, fuel needs to be burned before the pistons reach top–dead center. However, this isn't the case all the time (during part throttle, for instance). Because of that, fuel is sometimes wasted. To prevent this, you can use a Mr Gasket vacuum advance.
How does this component work? Well, when your vehicle's engine runs quick, the Mr Gasket vacuum advance releases vacuum in your header. This vacuum environment advances the ignition timing to improve it. This is done with the vacuum pulling a small diaphragm, moving the contact distributor points located inside the distributor.
