The Tanabe Electric Active Suspension or TEAS is the counterpart of the new Sustec Pro Seven Suspension. This compact unit is the brain behind the highly sophisticated new Tanabe suspensions. The TEAS is a fully programmable dampener controller that allows for dampening force to be automatically adjusted while driving. It is able to do this by connecting and using the signal from the vehicle’s speed sensor.

The TEAS allows for the changing of the vehicle’s dampener settings across 16 points within the auto. An active controller, it has an active mode that auto adjusts according to speed, and a manual mode which allows for fixed settings.

The active mode for the programming speed senses active damper control for every twist and turn on the road. For lower speeds or tighter turns, the TEAS can also switch to a lower dampener setting on every turn, and then gradually increase dampening force for stability while accelerating out of the turn and then reaching higher speeds. This is useful in tuning the suspension to a track by using average speed and average turn speed.

The manual mode can also be set inside the auto. There are four settings that can be stored in this mode, and about 16 dampener settings, which are independently programmable, that may be pre-selected. The TEAS features high visibility - a led display that is easy to read, a compact design that allows the TEAS control unit to be placed in many locations, a memory that enables it to store all programmed settings after the vehicle is shut off, a slim actuator, and a fast actuation, which means that it only takes around 0.013 seconds to change it to a particular setting. It is also ultra quiet in time of active changes in the settings of the active mode.
