Brake Pads for BMW 328
There are several parts on your car that are designed to be used up and replaced. These parts include a number of filters as well as your BMW 328 brake pads. Your 328 brake pads are somewhat simple in design.
BMW 328 brake pads consist of a thick frictional lining that is similar in texture to sandpaper, which is mounted on a metal backing plate. The lining of your 328 brake pads is typically made of either metallic or non-metallic substances. If your BMW 328 brake pads are metallic, they contain copper or bronze along with friction modifying substances and inorganic fillers.
Non-metallic 328 brake pads, also referred to as organic or "soft" brake pads, are generally made with high-temperature resins cut with organic fillers. Whichever materials compose the lining of your BMW 328 brake pads, they are purposefully manufactured to be of a softer quality than your brake rotors. This is because your car uses friction to stop, and that friction is generated when your 328 brake pads come into contact with your brake rotors. The brake calipers act as small hydraulic clamps to hold your BMW 328 brake pads against your rotors on either side. Of course, the two different types of 328 brake pads will wear down at different rates. Metallic BMW 328 brake pads last longer than the softer organic variety, but they cause more wear to the rotors. Typically, your 328 brake pads will be connected to brake pad sensors that alert you when you need to install new BMW 328 brake pads with a high-pitched squealing noise that sounds while you are driving, but stops when you step on the brakes.Find the 328 brake pads you need in our extensive online catalogue.
