The original 1935 Suburban Carryall had running boards. So did every consecutive model through the 1950's. Cars and trucks haven't been manufactured with running boards for well over fifty years, now.
They were part of old body styles that had those graceful, sweeping fenders on the outside of the body that disappeared on passenger cars about 1950, although they soldiered on with the Suburban Carryall until around 1962. Unlike the classic Suburban Carryall, today's Suburban has no running board, which is not a good thing considering how much higher these newer vehicles ride above the ground.
It's fine if you're tall, but what about the kids? What about the folks who are not as young as they used to be? Heck, what about you if you're injured or disabled? Even if you're not, you might wind up that way if the weather turns icy, or even rainy, and you wind up slipping while trying to climb in or out. Well, just because your Suburban doesn't have a running board doesn't mean you can't install one. Chevy Suburban Running Boards not only facilitate entry and exit of the vehicle, they actually look pretty cool. Our inventory contains running boards by the most reputable and trusted names in the after-market industry, including Lund, Westin, Putco, DeflectaShield, DeeZee, and Xenon. When you log on to our website and browse our online catalog listings, you'll find not only quality Chevy Suburban Running Boards, but hundreds of parts and accessories for virtually everything on the road at some of the most generous discount prices available!
