I used to think a vent visor was an unnecessary frill for my Ford 4x4, but I drove a friend’s truck one day and realized what it was for, and how much more pleasurable my driving experience was. What’s the big deal? Well, what it means to me is that I can get my windows unfogged in a thunderstorm without getting soaking wet from rain coming in the window. When it’s not raining or snowing, which is most of the time, it’s a whole lot quieter in my Ford 4x4.

My smooth-running engine isn’t the problem, it’s the thundering sound from the window, which I can’t help opening at least a little for fresh air. I like to listen to music, or the news, and I don’t want to have to blast it until my ears hurt, and sorry, I also don’t feel like closing the window. I’m running power tools all day, and when I drive home I want a little peace and quiet if I feel like it. Yes, and some fresh air with the scent of spring. AC may be cool, but it has no character.
