Ford Truck running a little hot? It could be your water pump. The water pump on the truck is like the heart of its circulatory system. The water pump circulates the coolant through the engine block and heads and to the radiator.

In the radiator the coolant is then cooled and re-circulated back to the engine. The water pump is the part of your trucks cooling system that is most likely to have a problem. There are a few reasons why a water pump will need replacing.

A blown seal will cause the coolant to leak out, or if you hear a rumbling, grinding or squeaking sound chances are the main shaft bearing is shot. If you want to know for sure if your water pump is history do this simple check-up. Locate your water pump and slide your finger in behind the water pump pulley. Wet finger, new pump, it’s that simple. And if it’s an OEM or after market water pump you want for your Ford Truck, we have it on the shelf and ready to ship. We stock both new and rebuilt water pumps. Both are available at a great price, but you can save a little more money on a rebuilt water pump. In a rebuilt only the bearings and seals are replaced, and the old housing is re-used. Depending on your make of truck, replacing a water pump is not a huge job and can be done by most do-it-your-selfers. One word of caution though, depending on the year and model of your Ford Truck, the Water Pump is most likely driven by the timing belt, and you know if you throw the timing belt out of time you can be looking at a major valve job. So if you’re not sure, or if you know but you're not sure the last time your timing belt was replaced, why not buy both a water pump and a new timing belt.You can still save a lot of money buying the parts here, and then bring them to your local Ford professional and have both jobs done.
