Before he became a mega-star, Burt Reynolds, a very young, Burt Reynolds, portrayed a truck driver on an episode of “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.” He is driving a gasoline truck across the desert when a car races past him. Miles up the road he comes to the fast moving car which is now stuck in the sand at the side of the road, steam coming out from under the hood. Burt slows his truck down and the occupants of the car pull out pistols and demand water for their car and their throats.

This is a gas truck, explains Burt and there is no water around here. Knowing they cannot get blood from a stone, the bad guys tuck their pistols into their trousers and start hiking across the desert.

Just then the cops arrive and arrest the bank thieves before they get too far away. So far not much of a story, until the ending.
