The concept for the television series was wonderful. The premise is that a former major-league baseball player Tony Micelli (played by Tony Danza) with his daughter Samantha (Alyssa Milano) in tow, gets hired as the live in housekeeper for a rich executive in Connecticut. The head of the household is Angela Bower.
The Bowers are an interesting family, to say the least. Angela is always wound as tightly as a clock and is overly obsessed with her work.
Her son Jonathan is shy and introverted, and her mother, Mona, is man hungry and always on the prowl. Tony soon wins them over with his laid back style, and the Bowers soon begin to loosen up. As the series goes on the relationship between Tony and Samantha changes as she becomes a teenager as well as the relationship, between Angela and Tony. During the run of this 1980s comedy Samantha gets her driver’s license and Tony buys her a car. To make sure his daughter stays safe, he has a huge tire taped to the front of the car. Well, that may be a good way to keep the front of the car from being damaged, but it sure was ugly. He would have made his daughter happier if he had just installed a Toyota Solara Grille instead. Angela would have told him that we sell only the finest parts anywhere. And that teenage girls want cars that look cool. When you want to add a bit of style to your car, order one of our Toyota Solara Grilles. To us, you will always be the boss.
